I'm using the latest OS on a MacBook Pro using Chrome or Safari. When I click on certain links (surveys, forums, etc), instead of going to that website, the tab opens to "SHP Redirector" and then to a McAfee web site. How can I stop this from happening?

Thanks.

I you suspect you have installed adware/malware. Try running this trusted utility https://www.malwarebytes.com/mac/

Might be McAfee itself...

˜What all 3rd party extensions are you running?

EtreCheck is a simple little app to display the important details of your system configuration and allow you to copy that information to the Clipboard. It is meant to be used with Apple Support Communities to help people help you with your Mac.

Tried that--didn't work. Only found one problem, which wasn't related to this.

Please run Etrecheck and post its full report here.

Use the “additional text” button below the message area and paste report in there.

Yes, malwarebytes. Problem is when I click on certain links, instead of going to that web site, it first goes to SHP Redirector, and then to the McAfee web site to sell their product.
